Waking up early can be hard, especially on a weekday.

Normal people wake up early only when it’s important or exciting. But there is a reason why successful people wake up before everyone else. They do it because it’s advantageous.

Here are the benefits you’re missing out on:

#1: More time

Exactly what you always wanted.

By waking up early in the morning you have time for yourself. You have time and energy for a workout. You have time to cook a healthier breakfast at home. You have time for journaling and meditation. You have time to accomplish more goals and side hustles.

You are left with 0 excuses.

#2: Silence and peace

I want you to experience this.

Living in a hectic world, filled with noisy cars and a lot of people can be stressful, especially if you live in a big city. At an early hour, you are alone, surrounded by complete silence. Also, you will experience less traffic which means less stress and anger.

The earlier you wake up, the more peaceful it will be.

#3: Angular sunlight exposure

The most underrated benefit.

Get low-angled (sunrise) sunlight in your eyes for 10–15 minutes every day. This will set your circadian clock, making you awake during the day and making you fall asleep easier. It will also make you more focused and improve your mood.

Go for a walk, listen to a podcast and you will benefit from 3 things at once.

#4: Quality sleep

Sleep is the Swiss army knife of health.

Besides regulating your circadian rhythm and being refreshed and energized, waking up earlier leads to a faster accumulation of adenosine, a neurotransmitter that causes sleepiness. Also, you have a better chance of completing your 5 sleep 90-minute cycles which are crucial.

If you wake up early you will go to sleep early.

#5: Mental and physical health

Early risers engage in regular exercise and make healthier food choices.

Now you don’t have excuses for not doing that workout because you don’t have time or, because you are tired after work. You also have time to cook breakfast at home, which is often replaced with processed, bought food or completely avoided.

There is also a lower risk of depression and anxiety thanks to the morning sunlight.

Try waking up earlier! I swear it’s worth it.
